The palette

Three families that never mix. White and light grey wool make the envelope, soft and pale like canvas; waxed copper binds it and trims the gondola, the warm metal that says steampunk; dark oak and spruce build the hull and the deck, a ship's wood. Iron and polished andesite stay down on the mast, heavy and cold, so the eye goes up to the airship.
