The palette

White marble in four whites: calcite and smooth quartz in turn round the robe for its folds, smooth quartz for the skin, polished diorite (a cooler grey) for the hair, white wool and calcite in rows for the feathers. Gold for the belt and the halo; quartz pillars and quartz stairs for the pedestal.
